December is always a busy month for the Lanark County Food Bank. This year the Almonte Civitan Club came to the aid of this very worthy organization with a timely donation of 60kgs of Kraft Peanut Butter and 70 boxes of the always popular Kraft Dinner. Both are staples of the food bank and were very appreciated by the staff.

As a follow-up to this donation, the club went through their cupboards and coolers and sent Fresh potatoes, lettuce, carrots, cauliflower, and apples to further aid the food bank.

Members of the club were taken on a tour of the food bank facility in Carleton Place, and were provided a very informative and detailed description of the operation of the food bank. A very enlightening experience.

Representatives of the Lanark County Food Bank have been invited to speak to the Almonte Civitans at an upcoming general meeting, in hopes to further build on the relationship between these 2 organizations.

Please support the Lanark County Food Bank. Donations are required all year long, not just in December.
