Members of the Almonte Civitan club have reached out across the world to help a fellow Civitan club in the Philippines.
The Asian Civitan Club located in the recently ravaged Philippines have initiated a project called SHARE A LIGHT AND WATER. The purpose of the project is to provide Solar LED lights and Portable Water Purifiers to remote communities of the Philippines which have been devastated by recent typhoons and earthquakes. It may be years before proper life supporting essentials arrive.
The Solar lights are intended to replace very dangerous alcohol lamps and candles. The Water Purifiers are to provide fresh, safe, clean drinking water.
The Almonte Civitan club pledged $10 per member of their club ($930) AND have challenged all of the other Civitan Clubs in the world to match…. or beat… their pledge.
